Please note: as this is an intermediate-level workshop, participants are required to have taken either 'Intro to Diversity & Inclusion' OR 'Fundamentals of Anti-oppression' offered by Bakau Consulting (formerly Cicely Blain Consulting).

Disrupting Unconscious Bias provides participants with an engaging and interactive opportunity to investigate and unpack their own personal and organizational biases.

This workshop also provides educational information on the science behind cognitive bias and how it informs the decisions we make every day. While biases are a natural part of our human brains, this workshop allows attendees to think critically about how biases may lead us to make unfair decisions, lack diversity in hiring, or exclude people. Participants leave with a renewed sense of urgency and knowledge for recognizing bias in everyday conversation and decision-making which in turn transforms workplaces for the better.

About the Presenter: Cicely Belle Blain is a Black/mixed, queer femme from London, UK now living on the lands of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh people.
